Homeschool Homecoming in North Carolina

Your next formal night with friends: Homecoming 2026 is October 22 in Winston-Salem. Dress up, dance, and make fall memories.

Your student can enjoy homecoming with friends, clean music, photos, and a chaperoned setting. NC Local Events welcomes homeschool students and their friends from across North Carolina.

What is a homeschool homecoming?

A homeschool homecoming is a formal fall dance hosted by a homeschool community rather than a single school. Students dress up, dance, take photos, and celebrate together. Prom is our spring companion event; explore homeschool prom for next-prom news.

Our story

Why homeschool families host homecoming

NC Local Events began when homeschool families hosted their own homecoming in spring 2022. They wanted their students to have milestone dances too. See the past homecoming themes below, or read our story.

Who can attend

Homecoming 2026 welcomes homeschool students and their friends, ages 14 to 19. Friends do not have to be homeschooled. No date is required. Come on your own, as a couple, or with a group, including a large group.

What to expect at the dance

Dress up, dance to clean, radio-edit music from a professional DJ, and take photos with friends. Homecoming 2026 includes a photo booth with props, snacks, and cold drinks. Dinner is not provided. Chaperones and security are present throughout the night.

Bring your QR-code ticket for check-in. No student is admitted without a ticket, and entry begins at the published start time. Parents may drop students off, or students may drive themselves. Drop-off and pickup can happen at any time during the event. Music stops at the exact end time, and attendees begin leaving then.

The dress code is formal. Gentlemen wear a suit or tuxedo with a button-down shirt tucked in. Ladies wear modest formal wear that meets our neckline, back, and length guidelines. Read the full dress code before choosing an outfit.
